Gothard Acres

What: Father-Son 9-hour deep sea fishing trip

When: Sunday October 12 – Depart from Starbucks at 6:15 AM sharp.

Where: Meet at Starbucks Westchase (Sheldon & Linebaugh)

We can all fit in our silver Palisade SUV and ride together.

Bring your own food/snacks/drinks. Bring more than you think is enough as somehow, we get extra hungry/thirsty out at sea, The boat has cooler/ice for us to store our provisions. We can transfer our provisions to the boat cooler at the dock.

The boat will supply our rods/reels and bait.

Dress in layers. May be a little chilly in the morning but very hot sunny by mid-morning. We will be in direct sun all day while fishing so cover up accordingly. Bring sunglasses and a hat!

I would recommend everyone take some non-drossy Dramamine and hydrate well. Take 1 tablet the night before and some before we leave the dock. Better to be prepared than to have a bad seasick experience.

Please prepare our young men that once we are out at sea, we are out all day long regardless of how we may feel.

I am bringing a case of PBR beer and case of waters to share.

If someone wants to bring some donuts to share that would be great.

Be ready for a great day! I have used this charter for 10+ years and have always had a wonderful experience. The captain and mate are very friendly/accommodating especially with young men who may have not charter fished before. The mate will bait the hooks and take the caught fish off as needed.

They will clean and bag up the fish at the dock for each of us to take home. We all fish as a team and share all catch equally. I have a Yeti cooler to keep our fish in after the trip.

I am hosting the charter trip cost. Please just bring $100 cash for each father/son pair to tip the mate after the trip.

Traditionally, we do a fish fry of our catch at our house at ~7 PM. All family members are welcome to join us.

Last note. We have a saying in the Gothard home – “what happens on the boat men stays on the boat.” Let’s demonstrate for our young men how to have a fun time fishing.
